Job Description
The incumbent will be responsible for managing M&R activities, coordinate depot operations, and supervise personnel while optimizing resource utilization and cost control.
- Assist the Manager with ensuring that all procedures and requirements are adhered to
- Ensure that work assigned to container coordinator leads / depot assistant & operating personnel are fulfilled to required standards
- Ensure smooth flow of daily operations and shortest turn time for truckers in the depot.
- Attend to daily mail correspondences from customers
- Discuss and reporting to manager in any enhancement for daily operation, and assist the manager in implementation of productivity initiatives
- Report to manager if there are any discrepancies, non-compliance, accidents or escalation from customers
- Assist the manager in maintaining the discipline in the depot
- Assist the manager upon requested and perform other duties and assignments as required
- Ensure equipment’s availability and procedural flow integrity and functionality
- Maintain customer’s requirements and confidence
- Observe performance and resolve difficulties pertaining to inadequate response to movement requirements and daily inventory supply
- Attend the regular operation meeting with shipping agents to discuss operation work plan and implementation
- Keep track of fixed assets and ensure depot facilities are in good order
- Liaise with DTT team on improving trucking efficiency
- Regulate the accuracy and priority of jobs undertaken by office team
- Identify safety hazards in operations areas and proactively eliminate any risks
- Ensure staff work safely in a safe workplace
- Integrate safety into daily work activities
- Oversee the repair and maintenance of containers in line with company policies and strategies.
- Ensure the commissioning and operational maintenance of the container fleet to meet customer’s demand.
Requirement
- Degree or Diploma qualifications in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Minimum 5 years in container depot operations or related fields
- Technical knowledge of container equipment.
- Possession of an IICL certification is advantageous.
- Strong team management and leadership skills.
