Cost Controller

• Manage end-to-end costing for a fleet of three liftboats, including managing monthly payments for overall fleet services and operational expenditure.
• Review costings prepared by operations managers, provide analysis and insight on overall reasonability of costs and challenge costing assumptions where necessary with the view to avoid unnecessary costs.
• Work closely with finance department to ensure payment requirements are provided in advance, to allow for smooth payment release and project continuity.
• Review and propose improvements to internal control process and policies, and to ensure day to day operations are compliant with internal control processes.
• Work closely with insurance department in providing detailed ledger of costs incurred and reasonableness analysis for insurance claim purposes with view to maximize recoverability.
• Oversee costing & planning for a repair project with a focus on ensuring project completion keeps to budget and timeline.
• Forecast costing and projected cashflow requirements to management for overall financial decision making.
• Prepare detailed variance analysis reports and costing status reports for presentation to management for decision making.

Lead Cost Controller

• Lead Cost Controller for ENI Ghana subsea pipe laying project of circa US$100 million.
• Key responsibility to ensure maximum cost recoverability via contractual reimbursement.
• Took over the project with a deep-dive and full review of all historical work done on the project for cost analysis and recoverability analysis, against a detailed contract review to ensure adherence to contract.
• Prepare and oversee end-to-end reimbursement process of invoices, including compiling and ensuring all necessary supporting documentation is in place.
• Detailed cost reporting and preparing project monthly reports for monthly closing out with finance and for management decision making.
• Monitor and update actual and committed costs with a focus on analyzing and project cost reasonableness and highlight potential cost overruns early.
• Provide costing and reasonableness support to internal and external stakeholders, including finance department, statutory and tax auditors.

Project Cost Controller

• Overall cost control for EPICC FPSO contract (Angola Block 15/06) with local content requirement for Eni S.p.A. with contract value more than USD 1.2 billion.

• Reporting actual costs versus budgets on a timely basis with view to minimize variances and costs.
• Preparation of budget and work breakdown structure for the project system in SAP ERP.
• Developed dashboard for comprehensive cost reporting in regular timely fashion.
• Perform cost analysis and pre-empt project leaders on possible cost over-runs for timely decision making.
• Analyze and monitor the project cash flow.

Cost Estimator and Contract Administrator

Cost Estimator
• Responsible for build cost estimation models for all offshore tendering projects related to repair and conversion of vessels, and newbuild vessel construction.
• Cost estimation models were used to estimate foreseeable profit margins, and to tender and secure new projects whilst balancing against the overall shipyard capacity.
• Worked closely with procurement, vendors and production departments to refresh quotations for cost estimation, especially in relation to material costs, labour costs and subcontractor costs.
• End to end operational involvement in new project tenders, including cost estimation, bid proposal preparation, contract negotiation and award.
Contract Administrator
• Contract administration for two EPCC projects for newbuild semi-submersible drilling rigs for contract value of over USD 1 billion.
• Worked closely with project manager for variation orders, project scheduling and negotiations and settlement of commercial issues.
• Negotiated and resolved disputes with clients on variation orders and change orders.
• Analyse and present financial and cost impact from variation orders to management for decision making.
• Work closely with senior contract manager and legal counsels to ensure execution of required documentation for settlement of disputes.
• Prepared weekly and monthly progress reports to report project progress to senior management for decision making and overall reporting, including compliance as a listed company.
